The purpose of this page is to provide you with the information required for you to make an informed decision before participating in this study.
What you will be asked to do
If you agree to participate in this experiment, you will be asked to rate 8 audio clips, which are different edits of the same song. You will also be asked some basic demographic information and questions about the quality of the music edits.
You can complete the experiment at a time that is convenient to you. Please wear headphones or use good quality speakers in a quiet room. You may adjust the volume throughout the test and take as long as you like.
Voluntariness
Participation in this study is voluntary. You may refuse to participate, refuse to answer any questions or withdraw from the study at any time without any consequences to you.
What information will be collected
- - Your demographic information.
- - Your responses and ratings of the music clips.
- - The date/time you completed the tasks.
Confidentiality
No personally identifiable information will be collected during the experiment. The data and results of this study may be published, but in no way that will allow you to be identified, and all the data will be handled in accordance with the provisions of the U.K. Data Protection Act 1998.
Conditions
To participate in this study your hearing must be unimpaired and you must be at least 18 years old. There are no known or anticipated risks or discomforts associated with participating in this study. You will not be monetarily compensated for your participation in this research.
